‘Preacher’ Renewed for Season 2 by AMC
It’s official: Jesse Custer and his gang are coming back for a second season!
AMC has renewed Preacher for Season 2. And that’s not all: the series, develiped by Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen and Sam Catlin, is getting an increased episode order as well. Season 2 will feature 13 episodes overall — three more than Season 1.
“‘Preacher’ is a special television program and we’re eager to share with fans the rest of this wild first season and, now, an expanded second season,” said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios. “What Sam, Seth, Evan and the entire creative team have achieved in bringing Garth Ennis’ graphic novel to the screen is extraordinary. We look forward to more time with these unforgettable characters be it in Heaven, Hell, Texas or beyond.”
I’m happy for everyone involved, especially the cast, since Dominic Cooper has been delivering a really solid performance in the lead. Preacher had a bit of a rocky start, but the series has really begun hitting its stride. Hopefully, Goldberg, Rogen, Catlin and co. can carry that momentum into Season 2.
