Potential 2017 WWE NXT Call-Up List Leaked

WWE is looking to move some big names from NXT to the main roster in 2017. Naturally, some will be headed up to the main roster sooner rather than later. But you might be surprised by who is being groomed for an imminent main roster spot and who isn't.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed the leaked list of potential NXT call-ups for 2017. Basically, it's a list of talents in what is known, in the WWE Performance Center, as the "Terry Taylor Class". The class, run by former WWE star Terry Taylor, is the class that grooms superstars for the main roster. In short, you're only in this class if you're being considered for a "somewhat imminent" call-up to either Raw or Smackdown.

According to the list, the talents in the Terry Taylor Class are...

NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura
NXT Tag Team Champions Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa
Hideo Itami
Kassius Ohno
Elias Samson
Tye Dillinger
Alexander Wolfe
Andrade "Cien" Almas

However, these aren't the only talents reportedly being considered, as there is a second group that will be moved up to the Terry Taylor Class spot once all or several members of the current class are called-up. That secondary list includes...

The Authors of Pain
Roderick Strong
Dan Matha
Wesley Blake
Buddy Murphy
The Revival
Riddick Moss
Tino Sabbatelli
Aleister Black
Killian Dain
Oney Lorcan

Of course, to those wondering where guys like Austin Aries, Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe are, they're on different deals altogether. They don't train at the Performance Center, so they're not necessarily relegated to a specific "class". So Roode, Joe, Aries and fellow TNA alum Eric Young, by virtue of being on separate deals from everyone else, can theoretically be called up at any time, and fast-tracked to a prominent main roster spot. With the Royal Rumble right around the corner, I wouldn't be surprised to see some of these names get called up for the match, such as Tye Dillinger making his entrance at #10 to play into how scarily over his whole "TEN!" count gimmick is. At the very least, I feel like there's hope for Joe and for Nakamura, particularly if Bobby Roode wins the NXT title at TakeOver: San Antonio. Either way, I'm excited for the possibilities this WrestleMania season holds for main roster call-ups and big surprises. I won't hold my breath or anything, but cautious optimism feels like the order of the day.

But what do you think about the NXT call-ups list? Are they people you think should switch spots between the two lists? Sound off in the comments!
