Postmodern Jukebox Gets Their Beyonce On With Jazzy ‘Single Ladies’ (VIDEO)
Postmodern Jukebox is back, and the band is delivering another downright stunning cover of a popular modern track. This time, it’s a version of “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” by Beyonce. But what’s different about this cover? Well, this particular cover is done in the Bob Fosse style that evokes the classic Broadway musical, and 2002 Best Picture winner, Chicago.
Frequent PMJ collaborator Ariana Savalas is the vocalist for this stunning version, which features some of the top musicians in the PMJ ensemble backing her up, with Jacob Scesney on clarinet, Erm Navarro on trombone , Alex Boneham on bass, Aaron McLendon on drums, and Postmodern Jukebox founder Scott Bradlee doing the honors on the piano. It’s a wonderful cover that’s well-worth checking out. Ariana is one of my favorite PMJ vocalists, and it’s a treat any time one of her videos shows up in my YouTube subscription feed. But then, the same is true any time PMJ releases a video. What can I say? Huge fan. So if you’re into retro versions of awesome Beyonce tracks, watch the whole video below:
