Portland’s Pets Play In Winter Wonderland After Record Snowfall
Portland experienced record snowfall this week and though temperatures are below freezing, this has not stopped people and their pets from playing in the snow.
The Oregonian has put together a video of some of Portland’s pets which include dogs, cats and even a tiny horse, having fun outside.
For people in Portland, the Oregonian gives some tips to stay safe:
If you can, bring pets indoors when the weather falls below freezing. Even “winter ready” or outdoor pets will have a hard time staying warm and healthy in weather below 30 degrees.
Household pets can even be in danger of frostbite. When temperatures dip below 20 degrees, animals can get frostbite on their noses, ears, and feet. Extra caution should be taken with very young or elderly animals as they are especially sensitive to the cold.
