“American Idol” star Syesha Mercado has lost custody of her second child this year in an ongoing battle with the Child Protection System in Florida.
Syesha shared a heart-wrenching video on social media, claiming the police welfare check was racially motivated.

Earlier this year on March 11, according to Syesha, she visited a hospital to give her breast-fed baby “extra fluids while transitioning from extended breastfeeding to being bottle-fed.”
It was then that the Child Protection System took her baby into foster care as a doctor sounded the alarm that her baby was malnourished. Syesha claims that she did not refuse a B12 shot for her child (which triggered the call to CPS) and that her child was not on the verge of death as the doctor alleged.
In the meantime, Syesha gave birth to another baby — the one taken from her in the video. Since she did not inform CPS that she had a baby while her case with the first one was ongoing, CPS also took her second baby.
