Oregon players to be disciplined after ‘No Means No’ Rape Joke chant (VIDEO)

Several players from Oregon will be disciplined said head coach Mark Helfrich after a video of the players surfaced chanting ‘No Means No’ on Vine.

The chant followed Oregon’s win against Florida State in the Rose Bowl. The players were clearly mocking FSU quarterback Jameis Winston who has battled sexual assault allegations over the last couple of years.

This is quite a low blow, because, really — you don’t joke about rape — let alone use it in a celebratory chant!

From AP:

Coach Mark Helfrich said in a statement to the AP that the players would face team discipline.

“We are aware of the inappropriate behavior in the postgame,” Helfrich said. “This is not what our program stands for, and the student athletes will be disciplined internally.”

Winston was recently cleared of violating Florida State’s student code of conduct, the latest development surrounding the lengthy proceedings in a case that began two years ago.

Winston was not arrested, and a local prosecutor already decided he didn’t have enough evidence to charge Winston after a woman accused him of raping her in December 2012.
