New ‘Suicide Squad’ Trailer Is Here And It’s AWESOME! (VIDEO)

Suicide Squad doesn’t hit theaters until August, but the new trailer is here to tantalize audiences with clips of the world’s greatest collection of supervillains-turned-temporarily-good. Seriously, this takes the intrigue of the first trailer and blows it up to cartoonishly epic proportions, as we get our first real look at just who these villains are (in this particular incarnation), and just how insane some of them have truly become. Also, this clip deserves credit for best use of “Bohemian Rhapsody” in a movie since Wayne’s World.

But beyond all that, this trailer is a delight that gives us a glimpse into some of the different performance styles for each of these iconic DC characters. For instance, Margot Robbie isn’t really doing the Harley Quinn voice, per se, opting instead to use a more natural speaking voice. Meanwhile, Jared Leto matches Heath Ledger’s intensity as The Joker, but seems slightly more unhinged and less methodical. It’s up to you whether or not that’s a good thing, but it should be interesting to watch, at the very least. I’m absolutely amped up for Suicide Squad, and this trailer is one of the biggest reasons why. Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5, 2016, but until then, you can watch the trailer video below:
