‘New Girl’ Star Max Greenfield Joins ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’

One of the stars of New Girl is headed to the latest season of American Horror Story.

Max Greenfield has joined the cast of American Horror Story: Hotel. With New Girl being held for midseason, Greenfield apparently has time on his schedule to do both.

The news was confirmed by showrunner Ryan Murphy, whose Scream Queens is scheduled to premiere this fall in the Tuesday night slot previously occupied by New Girl. Murphy noted on Twitter that Greenfield’s role in the show would be “like you’ve never seen him”, adding that the star will be “checking in to the hotel … but not checking out.”

So yeah, the odds of his character surviving this season don’t look good. But hey, there’s a silver lining here, as he’ll get to be a part of a pretty fantastic cast. In addition to American Horror Story alums like Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett and Evan Peters, Greenfield will star along with Matt Bomer, Chloe Sevigny, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson and series newcomer Lady Gaga, who was the first new cast member announced for the season back in February.

American Horror Story: Hotel, the fifth season of the anthology horror series, set in (surprise, surprise!) a haunt hotel, will premiere in October.
