NBC Chief Rips Donald Trump In Deleted Facebook Message
Donald Trump was one of NBC’s biggest stars on The Apprentice. However, NBC Chief Robert Greenblatt doesn’t exactly remember Trump fondly.
Barely two weeks since Greenblatt noted Trump “would never be back on Celebrity Apprentice, as long as I’m here,” he ripped into the GOP presidential candidate by declaring him “toxic” and “demented.”
“The sad state of affairs thanks to a pompous businessman turned reality TV star (whose show consistently ran LAST in its time period, by the way) who thinks speaking his mind is refreshing,” Greenblatt wrote in a post on his private page. “It’s actually corrosive and toxic because his ‘mind’ is so demented; and his effect will unfortunately linger long after he’s been told to get off the stage.”
Greenblatt later deleted the message, which was written in response to a New York Times op-ed piece entitled Donald Trump Is Making America Meaner.
Ultimately, it could be that Greenblatt simply disagrees with Trump’s policies in this presidential race. But this seems to run a lot deeper than simply a difference of political opinion. This rivalry seems rooted in personal enmity between the two. Considering how much Greenblatt has said already, it wouldn’t surprise me if he spoke up about whatever happened between the two. After all, Trump used to be a welcome fixture at NBC before his derogatory comments about Mexicans got him kicked off the network last year. Hell, maybe that’s part of Greenblatt’s issue. Either way, I don’t expect the war of words to end any time soon.
