‘Firefly’ Stars Nathan Fillion + Alan Tudyk Are Crowdfunding a Web-Series (VIDEO, PHOTO)
Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk want your help producing a new web-series entitled Con Man. Spoilers: it’s about conventions, not criminals.
According to the duo — who are taking advantage of their short-lived television series Firefly — it’s “the quickest way to see us back on a spaceship.”
In summary, the series is about two co-stars who were on a short-lived television show set in space called Spectrum. It would go on to become a cult classic. Sounds familiar.
Fillion’s character (who played the captain on the show within the show) has since gone on to stardom while Tudyk’s character is stuck working the convention circuit.
Wrote Tudyk of the project:
The series is a light-hearted take on the personalities, luminaries, and characters in the scifi community we are privileged to call ourselves members. Con Man is a way to share some of the surreal occurrences we have had, while telling the story of a guy learning to love and embrace his fans.
I wanted to make a show that featured all of my favorite convention artists and friends together. Not only that, I wanted to celebrate the world where heroes, villains, zombie hunters, and space pirates all overlap. I especially wanted to work with my friend Nathan Fillion again.
With 30 days left to go, the project has already been funded, but you have plenty of time to donate to their Indiegogo page.
