Mark Hunt Flips Out On UFC, Demands Fighter’s Union (VIDEO)

UFC star Mark Hunt is fed up. Just weeks after lashing out against the company for not paying him a chunk of Brock Lesnar’s fight purse after it was revealed that Lesnar was in violation of the anti-doping policy during their UFC 200 match, Hunt is flipping his lid on UFC as a whole.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani on Monday’s The MMA Hour, Hunt ranted about UFC’s failure to curb cheating in the sport.

“F*** that company. They’re s***. They’re f***ing worthless scum,” Hunt said. “F*** the UFC. You’re s***. You motherf***ers don’t look after nobody.”

Hunt certainly has reason to be upset, as things stand right now. Lesnar being flagged by USADA for a doping violation, and UFC failing to be notified of the violation before the fight, resulted in Hunt putting himself in harm’s way against an illegally advantaged fighter. Not only has Hunt not been compensated for this, despite this being the third time Hunt has unknowingly stepped into the octagon with a tainted fighter, Lesnar has yet to be suspended from the company, which ties into Hunt’s larger argument about how UFC’s attempts to curb cheating are destined to fail since punishments aren’t severe enough.

“No one’s bothered to call me about anything about those cheating motherf***ers,” Hunt said. “You know what’s the worst thing about the whole scenario? The UFC’s not doing s*** about it. They’re not doing a damn thing about these cheating monkeys. This is the third time I’ve fought someone’s who’s been cheating. You lose 20 percent when you miss weight. But when you get caught for doping, for sticking needles in your ass, what do you get? You get nothing. They just give you, ‘Here’s a two-year ban. See you later.’”

Hunt would go on to further criticize the UFC and Brock Lesnar specifically, declaring, “These guys are cheating, and they should be in court for it – lose all their money for cheating. If I die in there, who’s going to look after my family? … These motherf***ers should be penalized hard. Dirty, scummy, cheating scum – that’s how that monkey won his world title. You didn’t do it by doing it clean. You did it by cheating.”

Once again, Hunt called for MMA fighters to unionize, stating that they could make this happen if all the fighters in UFC band together. Hunt’s proposal is for all fighters caught doping to be fined their entire purse, and for the opponents of confirmed cheaters to have the option to sue in court. In addition, Hunt proposes that the two-year suspension for getting caught using performance-enhancing drugs should be extended to between five and ten years.

Ultimately, Hunt stated he wants no part of UFC unless major changes are made.

“I don’t want to be part of this company unless they do something about this s***,” he said. “If you’re going to make it a cheating sport, let’s all f***ing cheat, and let’s see who’s the first person to die.”

Well, if nothing else, I can’t blame Hunt for being angry, considering how often he risks his own well-being going up against cheaters whose illegal boosts don’t come out until after the fight, as we’ve seen in Hunt’s fights with Lesnar, Frank Mir and Antonio Silva. But what makes this crazier is that Hunt was criticized for implying Lesnar was on steroid, with Lesnar himself going as far as to famously declare, “I’m a white boy and I’m jacked. Deal with it.” But now Hunt has been vindicated — and he doesn’t really have anything to show for it. I could see this potentially leading to the end of his UFC career, since I don’t think the company is going to change, really. At least not to such a degree that they’d give Hunt all of Lesnar’s $2.5 million purse.
