Mariah Carey Blames Producers For New Year’s Disaster In Audio Rant
Mariah Carey is putting Dick Clark Productions on blast for her disastrous New Year’s Eve performance in an all-new audio statement from the legend herself.
Of course, this would probably have blown over by now if both parties had stopped sniping at each other, but after Dick Clark Productions essentially called Mariah out for throwing them under the bus, Mariah had to clap back with a response of her own. The audio, which Mariah tweeted out earlier today, accuses Dick Clark Productions of turning her performance “into an opportunity to humiliate me.” She goes as far as to declare “They foiled me”, adding that “It’s a shame that we were put into the hands of a production team with technical issues who chose to capitalize on circumstances beyond our control”. But that’s not all. You can listen to the full audio recording below:

To Mariah’s point, I actually believe that it wasn’t her fault. I mean, there isn’t really a whole lot you can do when you can’t hear the music. Even if you’re lip-syncing, you need to be able to hear the music to know where you’re at in the song. If she voiced her concerns to the production team, and they didn’t do much to fix the issue, then she has every right to be upset. On the other hand, I’m not sure it does her a whole lot of good to keep this drama going on social media. If DCP is at fault, then it’s hard to imagine the truth won’t come out, eventually. At the very least, going silent is probably a better defense than firing back at DCP.
