Liam Payne To ‘X Factor’ Judge Louis Walsh: ‘Shut the F*** Up For Once!’
Liam Payne is expecting a baby with girlfriend and former X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (who is just going by Cheryl now, post-divorce). However, Liam isn’t exactly sharing warm feelings for The X Factor despite his girlfriend’s former association (to say nothing of his own, as part of One Direction).
Liam lashed out at X Factor judge Louis Walsh in a profanity-laced Twitter tirade after Louis spoke up about Cheryl in an interview to promote 5 After Midnight, his group in The X Factor final this weekend. In particular, when asked about why Cheryl was no longer on the show, Louis stated:
“Well Simon wouldn’t invite Cheryl back because we have Nicole. We have Nicole and Sharon, we don’t need another girl.”
Louis then leaned forward and jokingly tagged the reporter, saying, “No silly questions, seriously. It’s not about Cheryl. Don’t be stupid, man.”
Naturally, Liam wasn’t exactly amused once word got back to him about Louis’s comments.
In a heated Twitter post, Liam angrily wrote, “Congratulations Louis Walsh for setting the worst example on handling media for his band who are about to step into a very hard industry.”
In an explosive second tweet, Liam added, “Maybe it’s about time you realise it’s not all about you and shut the f**k up for once, let them speak.”
I can imagine this possibly getting Louis in trouble with Simon Cowell, since he would presumably like to have Liam and Cheryl as options for the show, should he need any special guest judges, or judges to replace the current panel (even though the current panel is confirmed to be returning for the 2017 season). On the other hand, is Simon really trying to do business with Liam Payne right now anyway? Sure, he was part of the most successful act Simon ever coached on The X Factor, in terms of record sales and international relevance. But Liam isn’t really putting out any new music right now to promote in the first place. He generally just seems to be enjoying his life with Cheryl. By the same token, Cheryl doesn’t seem like she’s in any big rush to go back to The X Factor. So what’s really being lost here, other than whatever respect Louis and Liam might have once had for one another?
Ah well, the bigger story here is The X Factor final this week, especially now that The Spice Girls have backed out of their originally planned performance. This finale is in disarray, and it could either result in a last-minute triumph of ingenuity, or a disaster of epic proportions. I can’t wait.
But what do you think about all of this? Sound off in the comments!
