Lewis Hamilton wins British Grand Prix 2015
Lewis Hamilton won a rain-soaked British Grand Prix on Sunday, his third career win at Silverstone Circuit. This was his 38th career race win.
It was a very eventful race as the two Williams drivers leapfrogged the two Mercedes drivers in the front row at the start of the race. The Williams were 1-2 for the first few laps of the race, but poor pit strategy gave Lewis Hamilton the lead at the half.
Then the uncertainty of rain came in. Lewis decided to pit for intermediate tires at lap 35 giving Nico Rosberg the lead. As the Lewis was changing tires there was a torrential downpour. Rosberg had to pit and Lewis was back in the lead with 9 second gap. It was perfect timing.
Rosberg finished second.
Sebastian Vettel was able to pass the Williams drivers during the rain and finished third.
Fernando Alonso of the struggling McLaren Honda scored his first points of the season coming in at tenth place.
Lewis also led his 18th consecutive race, the most all-time.
