Lawsuit Claims Nick Gordon Gave ‘Toxic Cocktail’ to Bobbi Kristina Brown

Following the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown last month, boyfriend Nick Gordon is coming under greater scrutiny: not just from the public, but from Bobbi Kristina’s estate.

Nick Gordon is now the subject of a new multimillion dollar wrongful death lawsuit filed by Bobbi Kristina’s estate. In the lawsuit, Gordon is directly accused of being responsible for Bobbi Kristina’s death, claiming that he beat her repeatedly and then gave her a “toxic cocktail” to render her unconscious. The lawsuit then alleges Gordon placed Bobbi Kristina face down in her bathtub, causing the brain damage that would eventually lead to her coma and death. The lawsuit seeks damages in excess of $10 million.

The lawsuit states that, on 6 a.m. on January 31, Gordon returned from a night-long “cocaine and drinking binge,” and an argument ensued that culminated in Bobbi Kristina being discovered face-down in her bathtub.

“Upon information and belief, Defendant gave Bobbi Kristina a toxic cocktail rendering her unconscious and then put her face down in a tub of cold water causing her to suffer brain damage,” the lawsuit states. He then allegedly got in bed with a female guest.

Some time later, someone in the town home went to check on Bobbi Kristina and found her face down in the tub.

“When the Defendant came into the master bedroom, the very first thing Defendant did was let the cold water out of the bathtub and later shouted, ‘Clean up, clean up.’ Others began mouth to mouth resuscitation to no avail. Defendant then began to slap her saying, ‘wake up,’ and also started performing CPR between slaps.”

Unfortunately, this was not enough, as Bobbi Kristina slipped into a coma from which she would never recover.

Although this is now a major court case, it’s not a criminal indictment by any means, as this is a civil action. To date, Gordon has not been officially charged in relation to Bobbi Kristina’s death, although this doesn’t necessarily mean he isn’t under investigation by Fulton County authorities. In fact, if this lawsuit is to be believed, Bobbi Kristina’s death was not the only instance of harm, but merely the tragic culmination to a longer series of wrongdoings on Gordon’s part.

Lawsuit Claims Nick Gordon Gave 'Toxic Cocktail' to Bobbi Kristina Brown

The lawsuit, filed in Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta, alleges a string of prior abuses, such as manipulating Bobbi Kristina’s bank accounts to steal money from her. The lawsuit also states he had cameras installed throughout the house to monitor her at all times, giving the impression of a 1984-esque dystopian police state.

“This was all part of a scheme to control Bobbi Kristina and benefit from her wealth,” the lawsuit claims.

However, the alleged abuses go far beyond simply stealing money and watching Bobbi Kristina like a hawk. The lawsuit alleges Nick Gordon got physical with her. The lawsuit details one particularly horrifying incident of physical abuse, which was seen by witnesses. Further details from CNN:

Witnesses were present, the lawsuit alleges, when Gordon lunged at Brown on the living room couch so hard that the couch broke and she was knocked to the floor. He continued to beat her in the face until she was bloody and then kicked her in the side until she was screaming and curled up on the floor, the suit says.

The attack caused Brown to lose a tooth and blood was on the floor, the suit says.

“Defendant then demanded that she go upstairs,” the lawsuit reads. “Bobbi Kristina began crawling on the floor because she could not stand up due to the injuries Defendant inflicted.

“Defendant then dragged her upstairs by her hair and threw her in the master bedroom, leaving blood on the walls of the staircase. Afterward, Defendant stated to persons present, ‘I don’t do this often,’ indicating this was not the first time Defendant beat her.”

However, the lawsuit doesn’t actually reveal whether or not evidence exists to support these claims. Thus, this could all be an instance of “he said, she said,” provided there are witnesses to the abuse who’ve come forward. Perhaps those videos from the surveillance system Gordon allegedly installed contain videos of the abuse? Of course, you’d think he’d have erased all trace of wrongdoing by now. But if he is guilty, he wouldn’t be the first criminal to make a preposterous lapse in judgment.

For his part, Nick Gordon is reportedly devastated by these allegations, as his legal representatives have openly expressed the extent to which their client is suffering.

“Nick has been heartbroken and destroyed over the loss of his love and it’s shameful that such baseless allegations have been presented publicly,” said Gordon’s legal representatives, Joe Habachy and Jose Baez. “Nick has engaged civil counsel and intends to defend the lawsuit vigorously and expose it for what it is: a fictitious assault against the person who loved Krissy most.”

Ultimately, this case is a difficult one to prove unless Bobbi Kristina’s estate has some sort of smoking gun evidence that proves Nick Gordon is liable. Then again, this case would have been thrown out altogether if there hadn’t been some foundation on which to rest this case. So it’s likely Bobbi Kristina’s estate does have some sort of evidence, although what that evidence is, and whether it will be enough to cause Gordon to be found civilly liable, is uncertain at this point.
