Kylie Minogue Wins Trademark Dispute Against Kylie Jenner
Kylie Jenner’s 2014 trademark application for the word “Kylie” has been rejected by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
After the youngest Kardashian applied for the trademark, Australian superstar Kylie Minogue immediately hired lawyers to stop it.
According to Us Weekly:
Attorneys for the “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” singer, 48, argued that the 19-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is just “a secondary reality television personality,” therefore making her undeserving of the monopolization of “Kylie.” Meanwhile, Minogue’s lawyers pointed out that the Australian superstar is an “internationally-renowned performing artist, humanitarian and breast cancer activist known worldwide simply as ‘Kylie.’”
It was really annoying that Kylie Jenner attempted to trademark her first name only. Kinda rude.
