Kelly Clarkson Sings ‘It’s Quiet Uptown’ From Hamilton Mixtape (VIDEO)

Kelly Clarkson is one of the most versatile singers in popular music, which is why it’s not that surprising she earned herself a spot on the Hamilton Mixtape, which just dropped last week.

In a performance live on the Honda Stage at iHeartRadio NY, Kelly sang her contribution to the Hamilton Mixtape, her rendition of “It’s Quiet Uptown”. Accompanied by just a piano, Kelly’s voice takes center stage. At the risk of being hyperbolic, this is downright transcendent, and almost as powerful as the American Idol version of her song “Piece by Piece”, a version which just earned her a Grammy nomination! Needless to say, Kelly is one of my favorite singers in the business, because she imbues everything she does with so much passion. And this version of “It’s Quiet Uptown” is evidence enough.
