‘Jurassic World’ Trailer #2 Brings the ‘Wow Factor’
The new trailer for Jurassic World is an abject lesson in how corporate interference and other executive meddling can end in disaster. Granted, in this world, it’s not just a public relations disaster that occurs, but a disaster with an actual death toll, as this looks to be a far more violent entry into the Jurassic Park canon than any of the previous three movies.
“Corporate felt genetic modification would up the ‘wow factor'” says Bryce Dallas Howard, to which Chris Pratt responds, “They’re dinosaurs. ‘Wow’ enough.” And…well, he’s not exactly wrong, you know. I’m not exactly sure what these scientists expected would happen when they genetically-engineered a dinosaur to be bigger than a T-Rex, and then didn’t abort the project once that same genetically-engineered dinosaur ate her twin. But, as with any disaster movie, humans seem to be the harbinger of their own doom. So bring on the popcorn, and let’s see how humanity gets its way out of this one!
Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World opens June 12. And maybe it’s my fondness for the original (and only the original) Jurassic Park, but this is actually my most anticipated movie this summer. I’m just a big sucker for dinosaurs. And Chris Pratt. Oh, and Bryce Dallas Howard is super pretty. (What? I didn’t say I wasn’t shallow)
