Jon Hamm Completes Rehab for Alcohol Addiction
In a tragic case of the actor perhaps hewing too close to his role on Mad Men, Jon Hamm has revealed that he recently completed a 30-day rehab program for alcohol addiction.
The news was released from Hamm via his publicist, Annett Wolf, and the statement made it clear that the actor has the complete support of his longtime partner, actress/filmmaker Jennifer Westfeldt. However, few details were revealed as to the nature of Hamm’s struggle. Instead, the statement asked “for privacy and sensitivity going forward,” as the couple deals with what has likely been a very trying time for Hamm.
This news comes just as the final episodes of AMC’s Mad Men are set to debut, with the premiere arriving on April 5. Hamm’s role as charismatic advertising exec Don Draper mirrors his own situation, to a degree, as Draper is very much an alcoholic, albeit without the support system that Hamm clearly has. Hopefully, Hamm is able to land on his feet and put this all behind him. He’s too talented to fall by the wayside.
We wish Jon Hamm the best in his recovery and continued wellness.
