Jimmy Fallon Parodies ‘Empire’ With Some Surprising Cameos (VIDEO)

Tonight is the long-awaited Season 2 premiere of Empire. In anticipation, Jimmy Fallon paid homage to the hit FOX show with a parody on The Tonight Show.

In “Jimpire,” Jimmy begins the search for his successor, which ultimately comes down to Questlove and Tariq of The Roots…and also the wonderfully random Andre. Oh, and Steve Higgins, who does a mean Cookie Lyon impression. But, as good as it is, it doesn’t really hold a candle to Jimmy Fallon’s genuinely impressive Terrence Howard impression. There are also some pretty incisive jokes here, from Tariq’s diss rap on Chris Christie and Donald Trump, to Questlove’s deep, dark secret. There’s also a great series of surprise cameos towards the end that makes this all the more surreal. This was a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to have Empire back on my TV!
