Jennifer Hudson Is Performing at the Oscars 2015, Too

Move over, Anna Kendrick, you’re not the only new Oscar performer being announced this week.

Jennifer Hudson has been confirmed for the 87th Academy Awards, airing on February 22nd.

“We’re creating several musical sequences for the Oscars and we couldn’t be happier that our friend, Jennifer Hudson, will be performing in one of them,” said show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron in a statement.

Granted, we don’t know what, exactly, Hudson will be singing on the big show. But then, we don’t know what Jack Black or Anna Kendrick will be doing either. They join a growing list of eclectic performers that includes Adam Levine, Rita Ora, John Legend with Common, and Tim McGraw, who will perform Best Original Song nominee “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” on behalf of Glen Campbell, whose Alzheimer’s has left him unable to perform the song himself.

This is becoming a pretty stacked lineup for the Oscars 2015. While Hudson is terrific at dueting with contestants on reality talent show finales, it’s going to be even better to see her return to the Oscar stage. She’s a world-class talent, and I can’t wait to see her on the live show.
