Jason Momoa Is Downright Fierce in ‘Game of Thrones’ Audition Tape (VIDEO)
To anyone who thinks Jason Momoa is nothing more than a musclebound pretty boy, the actor’s Game of Thrones audition tape has surfaced, and it not only illustrates his considerable acting talent, it also displays just how threatening and FIERCE the man can be.
Momoa’s audition tape for the role of Khal Drogo, the part that launched him into the spotlight, has gone viral, and with good reason. It’s an intense, powerhouse audition. Momoa doesn’t say a single word from the show, but instead breaks out into the haka, an ancestral dance/cry native to the Maori people of New Zealand. It’s as haunting as it is fierce, and it’s pretty easy to see how he won the role. I maintain that Momoa one of the best performers to ever grace the Game of Thrones ranks. He absolutely nailed the role, and his presence is still missed, four seasons later. What a great character, and a perfect casting choice. I can’t wait to see him as Aquaman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016. He ought to bring an exotic flair to the role, along with that trademark intensity.
