Japan Has Opened the World’s First Hedgehog Cafe! (VIDEO)
Move over cat cafes, there’s a new animal taking over the cafe spotlight: the hedgehog!
Hedgehog enthusiasts have been lining up in Tokyo to visit the world’s first hedgehog cafe (named Harry after a play on the Japanese word for needle), which features 20 to 30 different breeds of the prickly mammal.
Said employee Mizuki Murata of the concept, “We wanted to show people the charm of hedgehogs, which have the impression of being hard to handle. We wanted to get rid of that image by letting people touch them.”
And apparently it’s working! Murata also reported that there has been a line out the door since the cafe opened.
