Hugh Jackman Confirms He’s Retiring as Wolverine After ‘Wolverine 3’ (VIDEO)

After much torture and speculation, Hugh Jackman has confirmed that 2017’s untitled Wolverine 3 will mark his final turn in the role he originated 17 years ago.

Parting is such sweet sorrow, bub.

The actor revealed the news in a video interview with Dr. Oz of all people (above) where he explained, “It is my last time…It just felt like it was the right time to do it.”

“And let’s be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I’m so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it. I kind of have in my head what we’re going to do in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out.”

Jackman previously teased he was hanging up his claws on Instagram, writing in a caption, “WOLVERINE …ONE LAST TIME.”

This was especially confusing as the message came not too long after revealing he had changed his mind about saying goodbye to the role forever.

On the plus side, at least he’s done toying with our emotions.
