Harry Connick Jr.’s Daughter Arrested for Providing Alcohol to Minors
Harry Connick Jr.’s daughter has been arrested.
19-year-old Georgia Connick was arrested and charged with providing alcohol to minors, following an incident that occurred on August 15. Georgia reportedly held a party at her family’s home in New Canaan, Connecticut, and it was an event that quickly got out of hand. Her parents, the musician/American Idol judge and former model Jill Goodacre, were out of town at the time of the party, and the situation escalated when more people showed up than Georgia anticipated.
According to reports from Lt. Jason Ferraro of the New Canaan Police Department, a neighbor called the police to report underage drinking. When police arrived, the underage kids began scattering into the woods behind the house, leaving behind a refuse of empty beer cans, which is basically par for the course when it comes to crazy parties that get busted up by the cops.
Georgia defended herself by claiming it was only supposed to be a small gathering, but that’s pretty much the excuse for every teenage party in every sitcom you’ve ever seen in your life, where the parents are away and things get hilariously out of hand. Except most of the characters on those shows aren’t the daughter of celebrities. Oh, and this also isn’t TV.
Georgia is due in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 2. For now, however, the Connick family released a statement regarding the incident:
“This is a private matter which we are dealing with as a family. We have no further comments. Thank you for understanding.”
