Gwen Ifill Dead At 61

PBS newscaster and journalist Gwen Ifill has died. She was 61. Ifill served as the co-host of PBS’s NewsHour and was the moderator of “Washington Week.” She took a leave of absence last May 2016 for breast cancer treatment.

In a statement, PBS said:

“It is with extremely heavy hearts that we must share that our dear friend and beloved colleague Gwen Ifill passed away this afternoon following several months of cancer treatment. She was surrounded by loving family and many friends whom we ask that you keep in your thoughts and prayers.”

So sad! 2016 has just been a terrible year.
