George Lopez Being Considered to Replace Donald Trump on ‘Celebrity Apprentice’
In the ultimate ironic twist, just weeks after NBC cut ties with Donald Trump over his comments on Mexican immigrants, the network is now looking to actually replace him with a Mexican!
George Lopez is being considered to replace Donald Trump on Celebrity Apprentice, as the actor/comedian is reportedly in talks with the network. While the talks are in the early stages, Lopez could end up being the guy if NBC’s other options fall through. Among those being considered? Shark Tank star Mark Cuban, Sir Richard Branson, and Martha Stewart. According to reports, NBC is casting a “wide net” to find the new host.
However, one source close to the situation claims it may be in NBC’s best interest to go with Lopez. “There have been initial conversations with George Lopez’s representatives, and, given Donald Trump’s crazy comments, George would be the perfect loud response to Trump.”
“It could be a smart move by NBC to cast George as Trump’s replacement, and it would also bring diversity to the network,” a second source added, before once again stressing that nothing is set in stone just yet. “The talks are in the very early stages.”
Personally, I love George Lopez and his brand of comedy, although I know he isn’t for everyone. Still, I broke up with Celebrity Apprentice a long-ass time ago, but I might actually watch again if he gets the nod.
But what do you think? Who should get the nod to replace Donald Trump on Celebrity Apprentice? Should the show even continue? Should the new host even be someone from the shortlist? Sound off in the comments!
