Gawker Files For Bankruptcy
Gawker Media has filed for bankruptcy protection in New York on Friday and it is headed for auction next month.
According to Variety, publisher Ziff Davis has already made a $100 million bid for Gawker. Nick Denton’s media empire lost a $140 million privacy case against wrestler Hulk Hogan and the appeal was denied.
Gawker brands include sports site Deadspin and technology blog Gizmodo.
