‘Game of Thrones’ to Promote Nathalie Emmanuel to Series Regular in Season 5
As of a month ago, Game of Thrones is up to a staggering 28 series regular for Season 4, but the show is already looking ahead to the cast for Season 5.
Nathalie Emmanuel, who plays Daenerys Targaryen’s intelligent but shy translator Missandei, will be upgraded to a series regular in Season 5. Of course, this depends on whether HBO renews the show for a fifth season, but the likelihood of the show being canceled after Season 4 is right down there at the bottom as far as odds go, right next to NBC canceling The Voice and CBS canning The Big Bang Theory. Not happening.
This is similar to the deal for Michiel Huisman, who will be promoted from recurring to series regular in Season 5. Huisman plays Daario Naharis, a potential love interest for Daenerys Targaryen, further illustrating that all Season 5 talk centers on her, for whatever reason. Should be an interesting season. But we have a full fourth season to get through first, and it’s promising to be the best one yet (and the fact that it’s based on the second half of the best book in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series has me extremely confident in that assertion).
Game of Thrones Season 4 premieres Sunday, April 6, at 9:00 PM ET on HBO.
