Former WCW Star Teases 2016 WWE Hall of Fame Induction

It’s time…it’s time…it’s VADER TIME!

Former WCW champion and WWE superstar Leon “Vader” White could be Hall of Fame-bound. The superstar hit up Twitter today to tease a possible induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. Well, either that, or he’s campaigning heavily for a 2016 induction. He tweeted out the WWE Hall of Fame logo. No text. No caption. Just a single image, which implies that he may have already received the call about a possible induction, since WWE is likely beginning to cement their plans for Wrestlemania, which includes the 2016 Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Vader, who’s not only a multi-time world champion in America but who’s downright legendary in both Japan and Europe, has been vocal in the past about how much a Hall of Fame induction would mean to him.

“It’s a big deal, let’s face it, WWE, to me… I’ve been to so many award banquets, All-American this, All-American banquet here, the All-American teams and the All-Conference teams and all these award banquets… to me, [a WWE Hall of Fame induction] would be, as much as I love football, and even my Super-Bowl ring, this would be the most meaningful thing in my life,” he said, in a 2014 interview with WrestlingInc. “I hope it happens. If it doesn’t, I’ll be disappointed, but life goes on. I think I’ve earned it, I really do. I don’t think you can argue with my accomplishments and just the matches, the work.”

While Vader was never as big in WWE as he should have been, I think he deserves the induction based on his WCW work and his Japan stature alone. Multiple world titles, a dozen tag titles, the legendary defeat of WWE Hall of Famer Antonio Inoki, and countless great matches more than recommend him for the induction. Here’s hoping he gets it.
