Former UFC Fighter Ryan Jimmo Killed In Hit-and-Run Accident
Former UFC fighter Ryan Jimmo, who fought with the organization from 2012 to 2015, has been killed in a hit-and-run incident at age 34.
The tragedy occurred after an altercation between Jimmo and another driver at around 2:15 am Sunday in the parking lot of the H2O Lounge in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. According to reports, Jimmo got out of his car to confront the driver of the other vehicle over some personal matter. When he turned around to return to his car, the other driver ran him over and fled the scene. The suspects, described as two Caucasian males in a dark-colored pickup truck, are still at large.
Jimmo spent much of his career in Maximum Fighting Championships, only earning the attention of UFC after scoring 16 consecutive victories in Canada. Although Jimmo debuted strong with a seven-second knockout against Anthony Perosh, his career was a bit of a mixed bag from that point forward, as he would go on to lose four of his next six fights. In May 2015, he was cut by UFC.
Hopefully, Jimmo’s assailants will be caught and brought to justice. I’m not sure what the two parties were even arguing about, but it can’t have been worth taking another man’s life. Here’s hoping justice is done, and that Jimmo rests in peace.
