Ford Focus RS Drifts Right Into Cliff In Pointless Crash (VIDEO)
Okay, so here’s the thing: the Ford Focus RS has a “Drift Mode” feature that basically creates the conditions that allow you to drift, sending more power to the back wheels, softening dampers, etc. But one of the most common misconceptions about Drift Mode is that you don’t need to know how to drift at all, that Drift Mode will pick up the slack for whatever knowledge about drifting you may lack. It’s ridiculous, but it’s a mistake that happens, as we see in this video.
Apparently, during a cruise day for the New York ST Owners Club, a Ford Focus RS driver overdid it with the Drift Mode, either assuming he could handle it, or figuring the car would handle it for him. Either way, he ended up slamming into the side of a cliff wall in what has to be one of the most pointless, avoidable crashes we’ve seen in some time. This should serve as a warning to anyone else who underestimates how difficult proper drifting can be. Watch the video below:
