‘Fantastic Four’ International Trailer Shows Johnny Storm in Flight (VIDEO)
The new Fantastic Four international trailer is here, and it’s showing a whole hell of a lot more than any trailer that’s been released in the U.S. so far.
The trailer is brief, but it features scenes of Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm, who ignites and takes flight as the Human Torch. Also in the clip is a peak at Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Kata Mara as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, who appears to be the blue figure flying alongside the Human Torch. I’m still waiting to see more of Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic, but I suppose we’ll get a more in-depth trailer pretty soon, as summer movie season is right around the corner. Still, I’m not sure which ad campaign has been more subdued for a comic book movie in recent years, this or Ant-Man. But I guess you could argue it’s still a bit early to be showing ads for either one, considering Ant-Man is in July and Fantastic Four is in August. Then again, we’re already getting commercials for Jurassic World, and that doesn’t hit theaters until June.
Anyway, the trailer is definitely worth a look. I’m not 100% sold on this reboot just yet, but I do trust that director Josh Trank (Chronicle) will be able to deliver something unique. He co-wrote the movie with Simon Kinberg and Jeremy Slater, and while there’s a lot of groaning over rumors of a change to Doctor Doom’s origin story, I’m taking more of a wait-and-see approach with this. Fantastic Four hits theaters on August 7, but you can check out the full international trailer below now:
