Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Cast in Disney’s ‘Moana’ as Singing Male Lead

Dwayne Johnson (AKA the Rock) is super stoked to show off his singing skills in Disney‘s next animated feature Moana.

The wrestling actor turned actor actor revealed the news on Instagram, squealing that he had signed onto the film.

Wrote Johnson, “At DISNEY STUDIOS signing contracts to play the male lead in their next big classic animated musical, #MOANA. Just had an amazing 2hr presentation and it’s easy to see why they’re the greatest story tellers in the world. Im excited.”

“And in the background my homies Fred & Wasabi from #BigHERO6 are jumpin’ for joy joy cause they heard I’m gonna sing in the movie. #WeTrulyKnowWhereWereGoing #WhenWeUnderstandWhereWereFrom #NeverForgetHome #MOANA”

The film itself is from by the creative team behind Aladdin and The Little Mermaid and will center around the first Polynesian Disney princess.
