‘Saved By the Bell’ Actor Dustin Diamond Sentenced to Jail Time for Stabbing a Guy

Dustin Diamond — known for his role as Screech on the teen sitcom Saved By the Bell — has been sentenced to four months in jail for “accidentally” stabbing a man during a bar fight on Christmas Day last year.

A jury convicted Diamond last month on two misdemeanor charges for carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct.

“I want it to be clear that this situation will be not repeated again,” Diamond told the court in his apologetic statement about the incident, referring to it as the “single most terrifying experience of my entire life.”

Judge Paul Malloy sentenced the former child-star to 120 days in jail and slapped him with a fine of more than $1,000 to “send a message to the community that we’re just not going to live like this.”
