Donald Glover hints at end for Childish Gambino, wants to be the new Spider-Man
In an interview, on the Today show Donald Glover has made a few revelations. Including one that the time may be over for his rap alter-ego, Childish Gambino.
The former 30 Rock and Community star said, “I guess Childish Gambino is a period in my art time. I want to have periods in my life. I feel like Childish Gambino is a period that should come to a close. I like endings. I look at my life as something you should be able to paint. I think it is kinda like performance art.”
Interesting yet understandable. Glover’s Gambino has been critically acclaimed and he’s been a hit, actually.
Glover also revealed that he is trying to be considered to be the new Spider-Man in the latest movie. Fans have been enthusiastically pushing for the next Spider-Man to be Miles Morales, and Gambino looks the role – but may be a bit old, I would think. Glover said, “There’s been talkings about it. I’d be honored to play it, but it’s really not up to me. I just want Spider-Man to be good.”
