Rex is a shepherd dog mix who was once feral and killed cats. Last year, he was adopted by Ed Gernon from Whittier, CA. Their story takes a heartwarming turn as only a month after Rex was adopted, he spotted a dying hummingbird. It had no feathers and was covered in ants.
Ed brought the hummingbird home and nourished it back the health. He named it “Hummer” and it has not left their house since! Hummer had developed a close bond with Rex and they even share a waterbowl.
