Director of ‘Creed’ and ‘Fruitvale Station’ To Direct ‘Black Panther’
“Creed” director Ryan Coogler will direct Marvel’s “Black Panther” movie. This was confirmed by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
Feige told Empire magazine that Coogler will direct a “mostly black cast.”
“This one is important,” Feige said (via Vulture). “Not only do you get an unbelievable lead character, but you also get all of Wakanda which is a whole new setting and culture to explore.”
“Selma” director Ava DuVernay was first to be approached to direct the movie featuring one of Marvel’s most popular black superheroes, but she declined.
Very exciting. I hope the movie rocks. Black Panther is already scheduled to make an appearance in this year’s “Captain America: Civil War.”
