‘Dancing with the Stars 20’ to bring back fan favorites to replace Cheryl and Derek
Dancing with the Stars will bring back some fan favorite pros for the 10th anniversary edition this spring, after the departure of Cheryl Burke and Derek Hough. Some potential dancers to return this year according to PEOPLE are: Anna Trebunskaya, Kym Johnson, Tristan MacManus and Louis van Amstel.
ABC will make the announcement of the Season 20 pros on Feb. 11 on Good Morning America. Later in the month, the stars will be revealed. The 10th anniversary of DWTS will premiere on March 16.
Cheryl Burke left DWTS to star in her own rival show on NBC.
Meanwhile, Derek Hough is not participating this season, as he is starring in New York Spring Spectacular with Tony winner Laura Benanti.
Executive Producer Rob Wade also told PEOPLE that head judge Len Goodman might actually miss a lot of shows this spring, on top of the fact that it will be Goodman’s last season:
“He says, ‘Let’s see how it goes,’ ” says Wade. “It depends on the health of his mother and how he feels personally about the travel. There’s a good chance he might miss a lot of all next season, but I don’t know though. I think there’s a chance he’ll decide to come back next spring when Dancing with the Stars in the U.K. is not going on.”
