Crazed Car Reviewer Explores Glory Days of Mercedes-Benz (VIDEO)
Regular Car Reviews isn’t exactly the sanest car show on the internet, but Mr. Regular tends to offer moments of insight amidst all the hilariously random asides about sex and other bodily functions. Case in point, this week’s review of a 1978 Mercedes-Benz 300CD W123, a turbodiesel coupe that represents the glory days of the Mercedes-Benz brand.
Mr. Regular argues that a car like this will never go out of style since “This is when Mercedes was Mercedes,” adding that the car is revered today for the same reasons American iron in the 50s was revered: “If you know what you’re doing, it WILL last forever.” And yet, by current standards, the car is just “nice”. What happened to the Mercedes brand since its glory days? Did it ever really recover from the 90s slump? And how does the W123 stack up as a car? It’s an interesting look into what made Mercedes so successful in the 70s, and what has allowed the brand to endure today. This is probably the most serious episode of Regular Car Reviews we’ve seen. But hey, the review still has jokes about dads trying to use modern computers, and introduces us to what the world’s saddest New Year’s Countdown sounds like. It’s worth checking out whether you’re big into cars or not. You can watch the full video below:
