Cow Who Escaped Queens Slaughterhouse, Then Caught, Is Rescued (VIDEO)

A calf who bravely escaped a slaughterhouse in Queens on Thursday only to be caught and brought back to be killed for meat, has a happy ending.

The cow made headlines when it was filmed roaming the streets of Jamaica, Queens after its daring escape to save its own life. He was caught by the NYPD and returned to the slaughterhouse. He was scheduled to be butchered on Friday.

The Skylands Animal Sanctuary And Rescue stayed at the slaughterhouse all night in hopes of saving the cow. Friday morning, the sanctuary shared good news on their Facebook. The cow, now named Freddie, has been rescued!

I am so happy! I was so upset last night when I learned that after his escape he was still going to be killed. There is still good in people after all.
