Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz Have War of Words at UFC 196 Press Conference (VIDEO)
UFC 196 has a new main event, as UFC Featherweight champion Conor McGregor will go one-on-one with Nate Diaz, who is filling in for injured Rafael dos Anjos. The UFC Lightweight champion suffered a broken foot in training, prompting Diaz to step up to fill the main event vacancy, although this match will not be for McGregor’s featherweight title. Instead, it will be a match-up between two immensely skilled, braggadocios fighters looking to prove they’re the best in their field.
The UFC 196 press conferences highlights feature a war of words between McGregor and Diaz. Diaz claims McGregor has only ever knocked out “midgets,” whereas McGregor claims Nate’s brother, Nick, is “a cholo gangster from the hood” who “coaches kids jiu jitsu on a Sunday morning and goes on bike rides with the elderly.” And that’s all I’ll give away, because this really needs to be seen to be believed. McGregor’s trash talk game was on-point as usual, but Nate doesn’t seem too intimidated, to his credit. This is shaping up to be an even more heated fight than McGregor/dos Anjos would have been, as it seems deeply personal between these two already. Watch the press conference highlights below:
