Confirmed: Andrew Garfield is no longer Spider-Man
In the wake of last night’s announcement that Spider-Man will now be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Andrew Garfield is out of the job.
THR, The Wrap and Variety all confirmed that Garfield, who had played Spidey in the last two movies from Sony Pictures, will not be part of the new reboot.
A new actor will play Spider-Man in the Avengers cross-over and the solo movie produced by Marvel Studios.
There is now a lot of speculation on who Spider-Man in MCU will be: Peter Parker or the “Ultimate” version in the comic books Miles Morales. It’s going to be really special if Spidey is Miles. He’s one of the best new characters to take on the mantle of an iconic superhero in recent memory. I hope it happens. (But please, not Jaden Smith. He cannot act and has no talent.)
CONFIRMED: Andrew Garfield is NO LONGER Spider-Man. Someone new will be cast. First appearance in MCU, then solo film.
