Cinema Audio Society Awards 2016 Winners: ‘The Revenant’ Upsets ‘Mad Max’
The Revenant was the big winner at the Cinema Audio Society Awards 2016, honoring the best in sound mixing and editing in television and motion pictures. Alejandro G. Innaritu’s epic scored a huge victory over presumed Oscar frontrunner Mad Max: Fury Road in a category that also included over Bridge of Spies, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Hateful Eight.
In other categories, Inside Out was victorious in the race for Animated Feature, while Game of Thrones won for One-Hour Television Series for the “Hardhome” episode. Fargo was triumphant for Television Movie or Miniseries for the fifth episode of Season 2, Modern Family earned the Half-Hour Television Series honor for the “Connection Lost” episode, and the Television Non-Fiction, Variety, Music Series or Specials Award went to Live at Lincoln Center: Danny Elfman‘s Music From the Films of Tim Burton.
