Chris Harrison Thinks Taylor Swift Should Be ‘The Bachelorette’
Chris Harrison has been a host for The Bachelor franchise for nearly fifteen years now, and he’s seen a lot in his time on the show. But he’s never seen a major, mainstream celebrity step up to the plate as a lead on one of The Bachelor franchise shows. So it’s not that surprising to hear Harrison suggesting that one of music’s biggest stars should take a chance at finding love on reality TV.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Harrison was asked to choose a new lead for The Bachelorette out of three single celebrities: Kendall Jenner, Khloe Kardashian and Taylor Swift. Apparently, Harrison didn’t have to think about it terribly hard: he was 100% behind Taylor Swift being The Bachelorette.
“Because here’s the thing. We’re going to have her fall in love because she falls in love easily,” Harrison noted.
He would go on to clarify the joking nature of his comments by adding, “Then she’s going to break up. Then we’re going to have an entire album of songs written about The Bachelor. It’s all about [self-]promotion.”
Then again, was he joking? I mean, I don’t doubt for a second that we probably would get an album of songs about her experience if she ever were to do the show. But man, what a season that would be. I mean, she’d never do it in a million years, but the show would receive an internet-breaking number of submissions to be on the cast if she did. I would watch the hell out of a Taylor Swift season of The Bachelorette, even while acknowledging that she probably wouldn’t be edited in the same way as other Bachelorettes (it’s not like Taylor or her people are going to allow her to be cast in a negative light like some previous leads such as Kaitlyn Bristowe or Andi Dorfman). If nothing else, Harrison is right on the money about what a huge self-promotion opportunity this would be for the show.
But what do you think? If a celebrity could be chosen to be The Bachelorette, who would you pick? Sound off in the comments!
