Character Actor David Margulies of ‘Ghostbusters’ Fame Dead at 78
Veteran character actor David Margulies, perhaps best known for playing the beleaguered mayor of New York in Ghostbusters, has passed away. He was 78.
His death was confirmed by his longtime agent Mary Harden.
In addition to his recognizable work in the paranormal comedy, Margulies — an actor on both the stage and screen — has also appeared on television as Tony’s lawyer in The Sopranos and on Broadway in Comedians, Brighton Beach Memoirs and Angels In America. Just to name a few.
Most recently, Marguiles was cast in the ABC TV movie Madoff as Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel.
Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.
