Carrie Underwood to Perform Duet With Sam Hunt at 2016 Grammy Awards
We’re just a few weeks away from the 2016 Grammy Awards, and we’re now learning about the performances we can look forward to seeing on the big show. One particular performance will feature an American Idol winner, and an up-and-comer in the country music scene.
Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt have been confirmed to perform a duet at the Grammy Awards on Feb 13 on CBS. But they’re not the only performers poised to team up on the show, as CBS has also confirmed that Tori Kelly will team up with James Bay, and Andra Day will join up with Ellie Goulding on the live telecast. It’s an interesting grouping, particularly Tori and Bay, whose respective genres and styles couldn’t be more different. It should be a really cool duet, provided they find the right song (Tori could probably smash “Hold Back the River”, although I kind of want to hear Bay take a crack at “Should Have Been Us”). Of course, I’m also stoked for the other performances. Carrie is always great live, and I’m excited to see Andra Day get the shot at being introduced to a wider audience. How she isn’t already a bigger deal, I’ll never know.
These six singers join previously announced performers Adele, Little Big Town, The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar, in what’s shaping up to be a hell of a Grammy Awards telecast. The Grammys, hosted by LL Cool J, will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Monday, Feb. 15 on CBS. Can’t wait!
