Boys Wear Dresses To Class In Protest Of High School Dress Code (VIDEO)
A group of boys at Buchanan High School in Clovis, California wore dresses to class this week to protest a discriminatory dress code at their school.
The students protested because there were gender nonconforming students where were not allowed to dress comfortably because of the school district’s strict dress code which bans long hair and earrings.
According to the Fresno Bee:
The district already is bracing itself for a legal fight with the American Civil Liberties Union, which has taken it to court over the dress code in the past.
In a surprise vote last week, trustees went against recommendations that would have allowed boys to wear long hair and earrings and removed language that says dresses and skirts are for girls. The decades-old policy directly violates state education code, according to the ACLU.
Yes! The disciples of Jaden Smith have arrived. What a time to be alive!
