Box Office: ‘Gods of Egypt’ Flops As ‘Deadpool’ Takes Crown For Third Weekend
“Deadpool” ruled the U.S. weekend box office for a third straight weekend with an estimated $31 million haul. The $140 million budget “Gods of Egypt” bombed with an estimated $14 million take – far lower than originally estimated by by Lionsgate.
“Deadpool” has upped its total to $280 million domestically.
“Kung Fu Panda 2” held at third place with a $9 million weekend, taking its total to $125 million in the U.S.
Also on the radar was “Triple 9,” and according to Variety:
“Triple 9,” another newcomer this weekend, should open to $6 million after generating $2 million on Friday from 2,205 sites. The Open Road actioner stars Aaron Paul and Anthony Mackie.
