Box Office: ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Blasts Off With $201.2M Overseas
Avengers: Age of Ultron earned $201.2M at the international box office, exceeding the opening weekend of the first film by 44%. The sequel opened on Wednesday in 44 territories (55% of total) and nabbed $44.8M in the first two days alone.
Korea, which was the 6th biggest overseas market for Avengers, was the top weekend play with $28.2M followed by the UK ($27.3M), Russia ($16.2M), Brazil($13.1M) and Australia ($13.1M).
The movie starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Anthony Mackie, Hayley Atwell, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgård, James Spader, and Samuel L. Jackson opens May 1 in the U.S.
The film is predicted to earn $200+M in the U.S. box office this weekend.
